The LG G3 is here!

LG’s latest flagship smartphone has the sharpest screen ever seen on any phone ever. It has a laser. And it runs Android KitKat. Sweet.

LG’s latest flagship smartphone has the sharpest screen ever seen on any phone ever. It has a laser. And it runs Android KitKat. Sweet.

After months of rumours, wish-lists and wondering just how LG was going to answer the challenge it set itself with the award-winning G2, the G3 smartphone has broken cover.

Stunningly detailed
The screen is the real star. With a resolution of 2560 x 1440, it packs in almost twice the pixels as your Full HD television at home. All in a 5.5in display. The upshot? If you can spot any individual pixels on the screen, you’re probably some kind of superhuman. It’s the only phone available in the UK to offer that amount of detail.

At the G3’s heart beats a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM, which powers the simple, flat interface on top of Android KitKat. There’s less pre-installed software, too – and you can delete pre-installed apps you don’t want. More space for your stuff, then.

And the laser? It’s part of the camera. (Apologies to those of you who were planning world domination.) The 13MP snapper boasts laser-guided autofocus, which is a boon in low-light conditions: the picture gets sharper, faster. There’s also OIS+ image stabilisation on board, for battling the dreaded camera shake.

Slim, light and easy to use
The casing (available in black, white and gold) is lightweight and slim and LG has redesigned the convenient power and volume controls on the back for even easier to use. There’s also an optional QuickCircle Case – which has a window through which you can view the six apps you use most.

Add a massive (removable) 3000mAh battery and wireless charging, and it’s pretty clear that the G3 more than deserves a place in your pocket…
